In 2008 I began the process of writing new music based on the series of abstract expressionist paintings by Barnett Newman entitled, "The Stations of the Cross." Please listen to Twelfth Station featuring Adam Kolker on tenor saxophone and Jay Bianchi on piano.
Please find one more from the new album. This track features myself on harmon muted trumpet; Jay Bianchi on piano; Jeff Carney on bass and Ben Gramm on drums. Please enjoy, Sixth Station.
Please feel free to contact me and share your thoughts and insights. I look forward to hearing from you.
Please find another audio track, Tenth Station, from the new album, lema sabachthani. This selection shows another side of the compositions that make up the two CD's of this project. Along with myself on harmon muted trumpet you will hear Adam Kolker on tenor saxophone; Pete McCann on guitar; Jay Bianchi on keyboards; on electric bass - Jeff Carney and Ben Gramm on drums.
On my YouTube page (look to the left to go to this site) you will also find a video of Tenth Station which also features the image to the painting Tenth Station by the abstract expressionist artist Barnett Newman whose work, The Stations of the Cross, was the inspiration for this project.
I hope you enjoy Tenth Station.
